Mulberry Street is famous as the inspiration for Dr. Seuss’ first book, And To Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street. The actual street in Springfield is just off Maple Street and is not far from the downtown section of the city. It’s also close to where Ted went to high school. But contrary to popular belief he never lived there. And although many have put forth theories as to why he used this street in his first book, no one knows for sure.
